A38 Ashburn Check weir works
6 June to August 2022
National Highways operates, maintains and improves England’s
motorways and major A roads. We also have a responsibility to
maintain some of the structures and drainage which cross our
network.
We will shortly begin work on the A38 Ashburn Check weir.
Works will include general maintenance of the structure and
adaptions to the weir to reconnect traditional fish and eel
spawning routes currently blocked by structures in the river.
Works will take place during daytime hours to avoid disturbing a
nearby bat colony.
Please accept our apologies in advance for any inconvenience
which may be caused. We’ll make every effort to ensure the
impact on the local community is kept to a minimum.

We always aim to work to programme, however unforeseen
circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes.
