Welcome to Landscove

We are a small, active and friendly village nestled in the rolling countryside between our neighbouring towns of Totnes and Ashburton and exactly half way between the big cities of Exeter and Plymouth. Landscove village  is commonly referred to as including the hamlets of  Memory Cross, Barkingdon, Beara, Wolston Green, Gullaford, Blackler Barton, and Thornecroft. There are 76 properties in the village and a population of approximately 850 people within the Parish of Staverton.

From Landscove you can hear sea gulls and the toot of the steam train. You can see the organic fields of Riverford Farm and it’s now-famous field kitchen and watch the mist rolling off of Hay Tor rocks on Dartmoor.

Like many rural communities we have plenty of tractors, wood-burning stoves, thriving vegetable patches and countryside walks. We also have  an outstanding primary school, a very cute pub, a highly-regarded plant Nursery, lovely B&B’s, several interesting and diverse businesses and at the centre of this activity we have our village hall – the Victory Hall. Used for a variety of organisations and groups, we meet up monthly at the breakfast market and hold various other events for the enjoyment  of our community.
