Every month this pretty green magazine can pop through your door and keep you up to date with local goings on! It is a really handy reference for a wide variety of local business and services, especially if you are new to the area. Among articles of interest from the Reverand Nicholas  Pearkes, local schools, Parish Councils meetings, and charity events it includes weather statistics, church services details, and a ‘dates for your diary’ page. To contribute simply contact the most recent editor by the 14th of the month prior to publication. An annual subscription is £6 for 12 editions.

Mail is collected from the village postboxes at 12pm Monday to Friday and at 9.45am on a Saturday. A later weekend and a bank holiday collection is from Broadhempston Village Shop post box at 10.15am.

Brown bins (with clear sacks and blue sacks) are collected alternatingly with black bins on a Friday morning. Clear sacks and blue sacks as well as compostable liners for brown bins and kitchen caddies are available from Follaton House. You can also ask the refuse collectors for additional sacks when they pass by your property.

For the most accurate weather forecast for Landscove use Yahoo – their weather station is located at Buckfastleigh (as opposed to other weather stations on the coast in Torquay).

Based in our neighbouring village, Broadhempston WI is very active and welcoming with a full programme of talks, a monthly book club, gardening group and regular walks.

The Conservative Councillor, Trevor Pennington, is the elected Councillor for South Brent & Dartington Electoral Division. Landscove is part of the Parish of Staverton within the District of the South Hams. Trevor’s contact details are available on the Devon County Council website.

There is no mains water supply between Memory Cross and Thornecroft. An application was made to South West Water for First Time Sewerage in late 2010 but the application was declined.
