Opening and closing gates!!
Choosing where I walk around the parish is often decided by the number of gates I need to open in order to continue. I use a strong stick/ elbows to try to open and close them it’s a skill I’m getting better at! Though I did wonder if some gates around the parish land on the river could be tied open especially as there are no trains running?
Sounds like a good idea - I find - like you - that most walks involve gates - so if I can I use a sleeve or an elbow -- But probably better than these - is to use hands and wash thoroughly on returning home.
Closed gates are a particular problem if you have small children - you can not then just say wash your hands when you get home. Please leave open any gates that can be open- not farm fields, but others.
