Landscove Village Hall cleaning and painting party

Dear neighbours,
Now the roof and lights have been completed on the Village Hall, we need to paint the exterior and clean the interior, ready for use in October. We plan a cleaning and/or painting day on Saturday 29th September. If you can spare some time (even an hour or so), please come along and join in. Please can you bring cleaning and painting equipment, buckets, dustsheets, stepladders, ladders, brushes, rollers, masking tape, cloths, dusters, etc etc from 10.00am. Suzie will endeavour to keep you topped up with sausages etc. If you require vegetarian / gluten free etc then please bring your own and she will sort it for you.

Victory Hall Autumn Supper

This will be on Saturday 8th October in the Victory Hall in Landscove.  Those of you who have been before will know all about it.  For those of you who haven’t, this is your chance.  This event is not exclusive to Landscove inhabitants.  Those from Staverton (and elsewhere) are most welcome too.  A meal will be provided (prob by the good lady wife).  There is a maximum of 60 places and these need to be booked in advance.  The cost is£8 for adults and £5 for children.  Bring own booze as we don’t have a drinks license.  Look in Parish Mag or for final details (October edition) or back here nearer the time.  Likely to start around 7.30.  Book places with or 07766606282 or 01803 762868.

America’s Cup

Recently the GB team (Land Rover BAR) won the series of races at Portsmouth and now head the leader board.  They race again in Toulon on 10th September.  These series of races are intended to identify one single challenger for the America’s Cup race which will be run in Bermuda in June / July 2017.  You may not care any more than I do about sailing and I do not understand it at all, but you may be more interested that one of the GB Team is Nick Hutton and he lives in Landscove.  So he warrants your support for that reason if no other.
