Introduction

Staverton Parish Council has joined many other councils around the country in declaring a Climate Emergency.   Click here for our declaration.

Read more about the climate emergency initiative here.

The Climate Action Tracker website monitors government CO2 reduction initiatives around the world and shows you just how far short each country is of what’s required to avoid catastrophic climate change.

What does this mean for Staverton Parish?  That’s up for debate. Please come along to the Annual Parish Meeting this Wednesday (24th April).  7pm start.

Join us on Saturday 6th July from 6pm for the parish Riverbank Supper, a community potluck feast by the river. Bring a dish to share, something to drink (but no glass please) and your own plates/cutlery. We’ll be sorting tables and chairs, so all you have to do is decide what to make and come and find us on the riverside walk, halfway between Staverton Bridge and the railway crossing to the nature reserve.

At the end of the evening we will need to leave no trace of ourselves, so be prepared to take home any rubbish and leftovers, if there are any.

A few musicians in the village will be bringing along their instruments to play. Feel free to bring yours along too if you’d like to perform.

Everyone welcome, but we’ll need to know numbers in advance for chairs and tables so please let us know if you are coming by emailing Jill Nixon on jillnixon@ymail.com.

This event will be strictly weather-permitting; if it is raining this event will not be going ahead. Attendees will be informed via email/the Staverton Parish Facebook page.

Welcome to Staverton Parish comprising the villages of Staverton & Landscove in South Hams, South Devon.

In addition to providing regularly updated information on events, this website was conceived of as a way to connect the community more closely with their elected representatives, the Staverton Parish Council.  Staverton Parish encompasses the villages of Landscove and Staverton along with some smaller hamlets.

A separate section of this site is used by the parish council to post information such as agendas, minutes etc.  Use the menu on the left to navigate to parish council pages.

I run this site in my spare time.  Several other people now have access to add events, but the more people contributing to the site, the better.  So if you’re interested in getting involved, please email me using this contact form or give me a buzz on 762 740.  You don’t need to be a technical whizz to add events or news posts.
